About Me

I’m always at a constant phase of learning and growing.

My name is Lisa Wang and I am a product designer and marketer attending the University of California, Davis. I’m a 4th year undergraduate with a bachelor’s in Communication & Design. I focus on building meaningful, usable products with intention behind every step I make, bridging user experience and brand marketing that actually land.

I primarily work with clients and projects that challenge me to create real-world solutions as that’s something I’ve been doing since an early age.

Started in entrepreneurship, later discovered my passion.

Since the age of 14, I was introduced to entrepreneurship where I spent 3 years learning about all the aspects of starting a business. While integrated in this course, I found my deep interest in marketing and social media. I love putting my mind to work and developing ideas to help a brand gain trust and connection with consumers.

Building off of marketing, I later developed a passion for product and UX design, which has grown me into the critical thinker I am today. I was fascinated by how these two fields overlap as I work with products while shaping the marketing that the audience receives.

Insights

  • Posts performed better when we covered popular groups and when the song had been released recently. Covers posted close to a song's release were still relevant and gained more attention and engagement.
  • Consistent posting also mattered for steady views and likes, and for not being shadowbanned on platforms.

Fall & Winter promotional reel campaigns

  • Promotional reels for recruitment for our Fall and Winter/Spring seasons.
  • Promoted with external campaigns/marketing: campus (MU) screening, flyers, and tabling at the Involvement Fair to obtain more reach.

Content creation

Boys II Planet · ~9 videos

Posted through the Boys II Planet promotional period while episodes were live and released weekly, which let my account reach the show's audience and gain traction during that window.

Insights

  • Contradicting opinions or debate-topics/keywords gained more attention and drove engagement in comments and shares.
  • Ranking and prediction-style content earned higher save rates than view rates, meaning people treated those videos as something to look back on.
  • Videos with bold hooks or strong debate topics held consistently high comment-to-view ratios, outperforming neutral recaps.
  • Content aimed at individuals or niche subgroups on the show reached a noticeably smaller audience than content for the general show community.
  • Posting on the show's weekly schedule sustained visibility and engagement across the whole period rather than relying on single viral spikes.
